Ensemble Company Membership Policy

Adopted by the Board on June 26th, 2007
Discussion
:   Historically, the general policy towards Winding River Players membership was inclusion for life upon participation in one production. However, with its reorganization in 2001, that generalized policy is seen to be no longer appropriate.  As of the reorganization, the Board of Directors became Winding River Players, Inc. All non-Board members became part of the child organization, Winding River Players Ensemble Company. Additionally, IRS requirements contain a more complete accounting of membership and the people we serve.

To that end, a more complete definition of membership and categories of membership is addressed in this policy. It is not the intent of this policy to discriminate on any way. Its purpose is to accurately record the composition of the Winding River Players Ensemble Company, to assess its growth and to recognize the participation of its members.

Definitions:

WRPEC Membership Categories

Associate Member — An individual who is new to the group or has participated for less than two seasons.

Active Member — An individual who has participated in two or more seasons becomes an Active Member and retains that category by continued participation.

Past Member — An individual who has moved from the area or an Active member who has failed to participate in the previous two seasons for ill-health or any other reason. A Past member may become an Associate Member if they resume participation.

Honorary Member — The Board may confer this category on any Active or Past Member in recognition for outstanding participation during their membership.

This policy may be amended or revoked at the discretion of the Board of Directors at any time.
